Subject: Modification in the format of Employer Code Number

Sir,

It is to inform you that E.S.I.Corporation has initiated the process of total computerization of all the process which include the online registration of Employer and Employees,payment of contribution,submission of R.C. and other returns etc.

In order to make it compatible with computerization the format of the Employer Code No. for the Employers of Sub-Regional Office,Barrackpore has been modified to 17 Digits as per the following format:

The first two digits represents the region code issuing code or sub code,the next two digits represents the region code in respect of whom sub code is issued,next six digits represents the Employer code(right justified),next three digits represents the sub code of the Employer,the next four digits is industry code.

The Employer No. will be same as 4/5 digits No.already alloted.The number will be right justified and the blanks in the left side are to be filled with zero.

The activity code will be the modified 4 digits Industrial activity code.

Regarding I.P's INSURANCE No. it is stated that 10 Digits Insurance No. is printed on Magnetic Stripe for identity upon Card Swipe.The 10 digits will include the two digits region code and the other 8 digits(right justified),the blanks in the left side are to be filled with zero.

In view of the above changes/modifications, it is likely that your branch may require some minor changes/adjustment as per the need, which may be done at your level.
